That’s why every session includes my signature galvanic aftercare ritual, using cataphoresis to calm, protect, and support the skin’s natural healing process. This final step is where science meets softness — and it’s one of the things that sets the ElectroGlow experience apart.
What Is Cataphoresis After Electrolysis?
Cataphoresis is a positive direct electrical current used immediately after electrolysis to soothe the skin and restore balance. In advanced electrolysis and skincare, it’s known for its calming, germicidal, and restorative effects.
Following hair removal, the skin is temporarily sensitised. Cataphoresis works to gently bring everything back into harmony.
The Benefits of Post-Electrolysis Cataphoresis

Cataphoresis causes vasoconstriction — the narrowing of blood vessels — which visibly calms redness and inflammation.
✅ Restores the skin’s natural pH
Electrolysis can temporarily disrupt the skin barrier. Cataphoresis helps return the skin to its slightly acidic pH, supporting healthy healing and reducing the risk of irritation or infection.

My Technique: Gentle, Targeted, Effective
I use the Cata+ setting on the XCell Apilus machine, widely recognised as one of the most advanced electrolysis systems available. This setting is specifically designed for post-treatment calming.
After electrolysis, I apply Action de Gala’s Yi-Zhibaume cream, then gently apply a galvanic roller across the treated area. The combination of positive current and carefully chosen ingredients helps seal, soothe, and protect the skin.

Yi-Zhibaume is formulated to support skin recovery after electrolysis by combining nourishing emollients, calming botanicals, and purifying essential oils. When paired with galvanic cataphoresis, these ingredients help restore comfort and balance to sensitised skin.
