Following my own unwanted hair journey — from discovery to treatment, healing, and results.
If you’ve ever suddenly discovered a coarse hair appearing out of nowhere on your chin, neck, lip, or jawline… you are not alone.
I’ve been saving one of mine to document the full journey — I wanted to show what really happens with unwanted hormonal hair, how to manage it safely, and what electrolysis treatment actually looks like from start to finish.
In this first video, I talk about what to do when you first find an unwanted hair.
For me, this one is most likely menopause-related hormonal hair growth, but for many people it can also be linked to hormones associated with conditions like PMOS (previously PCOS).
First things first: don’t panic! These hairs are incredibly common.
Hormonal shifts can wake up dormant follicles, especially around the chin, jawline, upper lip, neck and chest.
You might notice some of the following changes:
A thicker texture
Darker colour
Faster regrowth
